Protesting the Induction of 18-Year-Old Boys: A Letter to Congressman George B. Schwabe, 1945-08-26

The letter is a response to Mr. W. E. Boswell's protest against the induction of 18-year-old boys into the Army. The secretary informs Mr. Boswell that a college professor from Oklahoma has also filed a similar protest with Representative George B. Schwabe. Copies of the professor's letter were sent to President Truman and the War Department. The secretary also encloses a copy of Public Law 54 for Mr. Boswell's information. The letter will be brought to the attention of Mr. Schwabe upon his return to Washington.
