Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_6_46_0004
The letter from Mr. Cavanaugh to Mr. Schwabe discusses arguments against the extension of the Selective Service Act and adoption of a universal peacetime Military Training Act. Mr. Cavanaugh questions the necessity of a large peacetime army and suggests that current news reports may be biased to support draft extension efforts. He also argues that ROTC is a better solution and questions the motives of the Army in advocating for draft extension.
