Demobilization: A Call for Action, 1945-09-02

Item — Box: 6, Folder: Unknown
Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_6_54_0011
Mothers of soldiers are requesting Congress to expedite the demobilization of soldiers who have been in service for a long time. Congressman George B. Schwabe has been advocating for the release of deserving service members, but has faced resistance from the current administration. Soldiers are also expressing their frustration with the slow demobilization process and are calling for a reduction in the military force, withdrawal of troops from certain countries, and more efficient use of resources to speed up the demobilization process. They are also calling for legislation to make soldiers with two years of service eligible for discharge by a certain date.
