Mr. George A. Mandelman wrote a letter to Congressman George B. Schwabe regarding his son who was a dental student before being drafted into the armed forces. Mandelman requested Schwabe to support the Ellender bill, which would defer or release dental students from active service to address a potential shortage of dentists. Mandelman expressed his son's desire to return to college and requested Schwabe's assistance in ensuring his son can pursue his chosen profession as soon as possible. Schwabe's secretary acknowledged receiving Mandelman's letter and provided information on the G. I. Bill of Rights and the Ellender bill.
