Item — Box: 7, Folder: Unknown
Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_7_11_0018
The letter from D.C. Hamilton of Bartlett-Collins Company expresses concerns about a proposal to grant 26 weeks of compensation to workers, fearing it will delay reconversion and encourage people to take extended vacations instead of returning to work. Hamilton suggests that the money should instead be given to returning GI's and expresses concerns about inflation and unemployment if the proposal is passed. George B. Schwabe, a member of Congress, responds expressing agreement with Hamilton's views and stating he will vote against the proposal.
