Mr. Minton wrote to Congressman Schwabe expressing his disagreement with the proposal to pension civilian war workers, citing the country's high indebtedness and the workers' ability to take care of themselves once they are no longer needed. Congressman Schwabe responded, thanking Mr. Minton for sharing his views and agreeing with him. Schwabe also mentioned that he had inserted a statement in the Congressional Record on the same subject.
