The bill H.R. 2210 introduced by Mr. Izaac in the 79th Congress seeks to acquire Temple Heights as a recreation center for Government employees during the war and as a site for a memorial building after the war in honor of the sacrifices made by defenders of the Union during the Civil War and by American youth who have sacrificed their lives in wars around the world. The National Capital Park and Planning Commission is authorized and directed to acquire the property.
