Urgent Call for Farm Loans for Veterans: A Letter to Congress, 1946-03-16

Item — Box: 7, Folder: Unknown
Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_7_22_0020
The American Legion in Oklahoma is requesting immediate additional funding to the Farm Security Administration in order to provide farm loans to returned veterans for spring planting and general farm expenditures. The lack of funds is preventing veterans from being able to get their crops into the ground, which could worsen the national food shortage. Congressman George B. Schwabe has acknowledged the issue and expressed willingness to support the program once it is properly brought before him for action.
