The USDA has endorsed a proposal to divide government land in Oklahoma and give it to war veterans. The land would be divided into small farms and veterans would pay a filing fee. Prefabricated houses would be moved to the farms. President Truman believes that with modern science and technology, it is possible for all people to be adequately fed, housed, and clothed. He emphasizes the importance of arrangements for exchange and distribution to ensure that productivity benefits everyone. He suggests that relaxation of government controls and elimination of private monopolies would help achieve this goal.
