Audie Moore, a World War II veteran, wrote to Congressman George B. Schwabe requesting payment of a bonus to honorably discharged veterans. Schwabe responded, stating that several bills regarding this issue have been introduced in Congress but have not been reported out of committee yet. Schwabe assured Moore that he would support veterans' interests when the matter is before Congress. Moore expressed his belief that veterans deserve a bonus for their service and urged Congress not to evade the issue.
