Item — Box: 7, Folder: Unknown
Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_7_26_0005
Congressman George B. Schwabe received a letter from Mrs. B. B. McCollum regarding a resolution from the National Council of American War Dads requesting an increase in food points for returning soldiers, prisoners of war, and servicemen on furlough. Schwabe forwarded the request to the Office of Price Administration, who responded that the current furlough ration already exceeds the civilian ration by a considerable amount. The Office of Price Administration explained that the furlough ration is determined based on the number of meals served during the leave period and is adequate to meet the nutritional needs of servicemen. Schwabe informed McCollum of the response he received from the administration.
