Mrs. John N. Backus writes to Congressman George B. Schwabe requesting his support for Bills HR 2069 and HR 2070 to discharge former WTS men including her husband, who is currently serving in England. The secretary responds on behalf of Congressman Schwabe, stating that he does not support signing discharge petitions and prefers bills to go through the regular process in Congress. The letter from Mrs. Backus is acknowledged, and the secretary promises to bring it to Congressman Schwabe's attention.
