Item — Box: 7, Folder: Unknown

Several individuals from Bartlesville, Oklahoma wrote to Hon. George B. Schwabe expressing their support for restricting back payment of wages under the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to one year. They also expressed their opposition to certain provisions in the proposed Amendment in H.R. #3293, such as increasing retirement benefits and the taking of 8% of the National income for health and public welfare. They suggested leaving the Unemployment and Disability benefits as they currently stand and allowing people to select and pay for their own health insurance. Additionally, they supported the retirement of women at the age of 60 and coverage at the present rate for all classes.
