Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_7_30_0001
Mr. John M. Cullens, President of Buda Engine Sales and Service, Inc., wrote two letters to Congressman George B. Schwabe expressing his support for the Gwynne Bill (H.R. 2788) and the substitute bill introduced by Senator McCarran. Cullens believes that both bills are necessary to improve conditions for employers and individuals accused of violations by administrative agencies. Schwabe, in his response, acknowledges receipt of Cullens' letters, expresses his familiarity with the Gwynne Bill, and indicates his support for it. He is less familiar with the substitute bill but promises to thoroughly review it and vote in favor if it seems beneficial. Schwabe also expresses concern that the New Deal majority in Congress may not support the Gwynne Bill due to influence from labor racketeers and the New Deal crowd.
