Item — Box: 7, Folder: Unknown
Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_7_30_0024
The letter from Mr. Williams to Congressman Schwabe discusses two bills, the Gwynne Bill and Congressman Walter's bill, which are coming up for consideration in Congress. Mr. Williams expresses his support for the bills and urges Congressman Schwabe to also support them. Congressman Schwabe responds that he is familiar with the Gwynne Bill and supports it, but is not as familiar with Congressman Walter's bill. He promises to familiarize himself with it and vote for it if it seems beneficial. Congressman Schwabe also expresses concern that the New Deal majority in Congress may not support the Gwynne Bill due to pressure from labor racketeers and others.
