Request for Support in Indian Affairs Legislation, 1949-10-28
Item — Box: 6, Folder: 80
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_6_80_0001
Daniel Coody, a member of the Cherokee Tribe and Vice Chairman of the Cherokee Executive Committee, is writing to Congressman Carl Albert to request his support for a proposed bill that would benefit the Five Tribes people of Eastern Oklahoma. Coody believes that a bill introduced by Congressman Stigler does not provide any advantages for the Indian people in terms of services. He asks Congressman Albert to consider introducing a bill on their behalf and looks forward to hearing from him before their next committee meeting on December 3, 1949.
