Senator James Abourezk writes to Senator Dewey F. Bartlett regarding the adoption of a management analysis group to investigate the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Senator Hatfield proposed a Title II amendment for an outside management study, without intruding on the responsibilities of a Commission. Abourezk presents his own draft for the amendment, emphasizing the need for an in-depth analysis of the BIA. The draft also establishes a Private Sector Task Force to conduct the study. The Task Force is given powers to hold hearings and secure necessary information, with an authorization of up to $300,000 for expenses. 'Indian Reorganization Act.
