Investigation into Alleged Discrimination in Indian Health Service Employment, 1971-07-30

 Item — Box: 32, Folder: 8
Identifier: CAC_CC_003_2_32_8_0024
The letter responds to a request to investigate discrimination allegations in the Oklahoma City Indian Health Area Office. The qualifications review board consisted of mostly Indian members and selected an Indian applicant for the position. Records show that all appointments in the clerical and stenographic field since 1967 have been individuals of Indian descent. The letter concludes that the allegation of discrimination is not warranted based on the review conducted.
