John Davis, the Director of Oklahoma City Area Indian Health Service, met with the staff of Claremore Indian Hospital to address recent events that have impacted the credibility of the health care delivery system for Native Americans in Oklahoma. He charged each staff member with the immediate responsibility of providing health care for Indian patients and emphasized the importance of communication and resolving concerns promptly. Davis also announced that the Service Unit Director and Director of Nursing would remain in their positions. Employees were reminded of procedures for addressing complaints and warned against disruptive behavior. Davis expressed appreciation for employees who continued to work under adverse conditions and emphasized the need for leadership from supervisors and health professionals in the hospital.
