The Alaska Public Health Association supports the Indian Health Care Improvement Act of 1974 and amendments introduced by Senator Edward Kennedy that focus on improving mental health services for Native Americans. The association represents around 200 health professionals and individuals interested in improving the health of Alaskans, particularly the Alaska Native population. They are grateful for the leadership of Senator Dewey F. Bartlett and his colleagues in addressing health issues in the state.
