Indian Health Service Seeks Funding for New Hospital in Claremore, 1973-01-01 - 1978-12-31
Item — Box: 32, Folder: 9
Identifier: CAC_CC_003_2_32_9_0054
The Indian Health Service is planning to replace its hospital in Claremore with a new, larger structure due to the lack of sufficient space and outdated facilities. The new hospital would serve a larger number of patients and out-patients and is expected to open in late 1976 if construction begins soon. The current hospital has lost its accreditation due to physical plant deficiencies. The Indian population in the area has low income and education levels, and there are limited community health facilities nearby.
