 Item — Box: 32, Folder: 18
Identifier: CAC_CC_003_2_32_18_0008
Senator Bartlett received a letter from Pauline Hurst expressing her disappointment in not being able to get an Indian home built for her despite two years of trying. She explains the various setbacks and delays she has faced, including a failed Perk test and a well being drilled in the wrong location. Pauline, who is struggling financially with two children and a disabled husband, asks for help from Senator Bartlett to get the home she was promised. Senator Bartlett then writes to Chief W.W. Keeler of the Cherokees, enclosing Pauline's letter and asking for any assistance he can provide to help her.
