 Item — Box: 32, Folder: 20
Identifier: CAC_CC_003_2_32_20_0002
Senator Dewey F. Bartlett announced that he will hold congressional hearings on Indian housing programs during the August recess. The hearings will take place on August 6 in Muskogee and August 7 in Anadarko. Bartlett, the ranking minority member of the Indian Affairs Subcommittee, hopes to develop a major housing act to address the needs of the Indian people. Tribal leaders and housing authority representatives are expected to provide testimony at the hearings. Bartlett's recent fact-finding mission to Somalia led to the rescheduling of the hearings from the July 4th recess to the August recess.
