The Bureau of Indian Affairs is considering a proposal for a national advisory committee by the National Congress of American Indians. The Bureau is exploring the idea of having members of the advisory committee elected by tribal representatives from different regions. Regional meetings with Indian people are planned for late summer and early fall to discuss the proposal further. Senator Harris's interest in the matter is appreciated.
