Item — Box: 5, Folder: 12
Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_5_12_0001
The Cleveland Chamber of Commerce is recommending the disapproval of the Norton Fair Employment Practice Bill, as well as any legislation dealing with the issue of discrimination. They believe that discrimination cannot be prevented by legislation and that it would be detrimental to minority groups and hinder progress made during the war in breaking down discriminatory practices. Walter I. Beam, the Executive Vice President, urges Hon. George B. Schwabe to consider their views.
