George B. Schwabe, a congressman, received a letter from D.M. Tyler opposing the Fair Employment Practice Act (H.R. 2232) and expressing hope that the bill would be defeated. Schwabe responded, stating that he does not support the bill and has declined to sign a petition to bring it out for consideration. He also expressed a wish that other members of Congress would see the issue the same way.
