Mrs. Marie M. Mott wrote a letter to Congressman George B. Schwabe requesting support for a bill to increase the salaries of federal employees in her line of work. She explained her difficult financial situation as a draftsman for the U.S. Engineers and expressed her hope that the congressman would use his influence to pass the necessary bills. Congressman Schwabe responded, stating that he would consider voting for the bill and expressing his belief that Mrs. Mott's salary should be increased.
