Post-War Employment Challenges and Government Assistance Programs: Correspondence between Rep. George B. Schwabe and Mr. T. W. Peters, 1945-09-04
Mr. Peters, owner of the Oklahoma Greenhouse, wrote a letter to Rep. George B. Schwabe expressing his frustration with the difficulty of hiring workers due to many preferring to stay on a government-sponsored work plan rather than seeking employment. He believes this mentality is harmful to the economy and criticizes the New Deal for promoting dependency on the government. Rep. Schwabe sympathizes with Mr. Peters' concerns and offers assistance.
