Correspondence on Truman's Defense Plant Workers Pension Proposal: A Congressman's Response to Constituent's Concerns, 1945-06-07
Mr. Minton expresses his disagreement with the proposal to pension civilian war workers and believes they should be able to take care of themselves once they are no longer needed. He questions the financial burden it would place on the government, especially with the existing debt from war expenses. Mr. Schwabe, in response, appreciates Mr. Minton's views and agrees with his stance on the issue. He encourages Mr. Minton to continue sharing his opinions on current issues.
