Correspondence Regarding Spanish American War Veterans' Pension Reduction, 1946-05-10

Mrs. Wiley Smith is writing to Honorable George B. Schwabe to request that a bill be drawn up to reimburse Spanish American War Veterans for the money that was cut from their pensions due to the Economy Act. She believes that the bill would pass in Congress and hopes that Schwabe will consider helping them. Schwabe responds by explaining that it is unlikely for such a bill to pass as long as the current administration is in control.
