Correspondence on Veterans Bonus Post World War II, 1946-01-19
Item — Box: 7, Folder: 25
Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_7_25_0009
The letter from Mr. Audie Moore to George B. Schwabe, a member of Congress, requests payment of a bonus to honorably discharged veterans of World War II. Moore expresses his frustration at the difficulty veterans face in finding jobs and their inability to take advantage of the GI Bill of Rights. He argues that veterans deserve a bonus for their service, especially since those who stayed at home have financially benefited. Schwabe responds by stating that while he is not on the committees responsible for the bills related to this issue, he will have the interest of veterans at heart when the matter is before Congress.
