Correspondence Regarding HR 2069 and HR 2070: Discharge Bills for WTS Men, 1945-07-19
Mrs. John N. Backus wrote a letter to Congressman George B. Schwabe requesting his support for bills HR 2069 and HR 2070 to discharge former WTS men from the army. Congressman Schwabe's secretary responded, stating that Schwabe does not support signing discharge petitions as he believes all measures should go through Congress in the regular way. The secretary promised to bring Mrs. Backus's letter to Schwabe's attention.
