Correspondence Regarding Proposed Increase in Minimum Wage and its Impact on the Oklahoma Telephone Company, 1944-12-31
The Oklahoma Telephone Company is requesting Hon. George Schwabe to oppose an increase in the minimum wage from 40 cents to 65 cents per hour, as it would significantly impact their expenses and require an increase in rates for subscribers. They provide financial data showing the effect of the wage increase on their company's income and expenses. They also request support for amending the present Act to increase the station exemption. Schwabe's office acknowledges the letter and states that they will bring the concerns to the Congressman's attention upon his return to Washington.
