Correspondence on the Rivers and Harbors Bill, H. R. 6407 and the Big Sandy River Project, 1946-06-07

Mr. Edward D. Avery wrote a letter to Congressman George B. Schwabe expressing his concerns about the Omnibus Rivers and Harbors Bill, specifically regarding a proposed canal on the Big Sandy River. Avery believes the project is unnecessary and costly, and Schwabe assures him that he voted in favor of an amendment to strike the project from the bill. Schwabe also sends Avery a copy of the Congressional Record detailing the discussion and vote on the bill. Avery appreciates Schwabe's support and hopes to see him soon.
