1946 Letter from Oklahoma Laundry owners Association to Congressman George B. Schwabe Regarding Proposed Legislation, 1946-12-19

The Oklahoma Laundry owners Association is requesting legislation to keep the Old Age Payroll Tax at 1%, revise the Wagoner Act, prohibit picketing without a majority of members present, revise the Wage and Hour Act to include a statute of limitation, and exempt local businesses from the Act. They are concerned about the potential impact of the Wage-Hour Act on laundries and dry cleaners, which could lead to bankruptcy. The association urges Congressman George B. Schwabe to address these issues.
