Correspondence Regarding Retirement Deductions Refund for Charley L. Beard, 1946-01-28

Mr. Charley L. Beard from Commerce, Oklahoma, contacted Representative George B. Schwabe for assistance in obtaining a refund of his retirement deductions from the Civil Service Commission. Schwabe contacted the Commission on Beard's behalf, and they approved the refund, with the payment expected to be sent to the Treasury Department for processing. Schwabe assured Beard that he would receive his check within two weeks and offered to expedite the process if necessary. Additionally, Schwabe communicated with the Headquarters, Army Air Forces in Atlanta to expedite Beard's application. Colonel Woodside informed Schwabe that they were awaiting additional information in order to complete Beard's record and process the refund. Schwabe assured Beard that he would continue to follow up on his behalf and keep him informed of any progress.
