1946 Correspondence Regarding Civil Service Retirement and Refund Misinformation, 1946-07-26

The letter is a response to Mr. Walter M. Betterton's request for a refund of his retirement deductions. The Civil Service Commission has already processed his application and a check will be sent to him soon. Betterton had applied for a refund based on incorrect information given to him by his superior, which led him to resign. The Commission cannot withdraw his application now, but Betterton is encouraged to reach out if he needs further assistance.
