Robert G. David from Bartlesville, Oklahoma, wrote to Congressman George B. Schwabe requesting assistance in expediting his Civil Service Retirement Refund. Schwabe contacted the Civil Service Commission on David's behalf, and a check was mailed to David on June 21, 1946. David expressed his appreciation for Schwabe's help and stated his support for Schwabe in the upcoming November election. Schwabe's secretary, A. L. Warren, informed David that the Civil Service Commission was checking their files and would report back to Schwabe. David also requested information on the Ramspeck Bill and its application to his employment period at the Bureau of Mines. Schwabe's office provided information on David's termination and stated that he would be paid for any remaining annual leave.
