Analysis of Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Distributor Margins and Rollback Proposal, 1945-01-01 - 1946-12-31

The Office of Price Administration explains to Congressman George B. Schwabe the reasons behind the proposed rollback in fresh fruit and vegetable distributors' margins. The decision was based on a survey conducted in 1944 and industry representatives agreed to the results. The rollback would not disproportionately benefit chain stores and could potentially lower prices for consumers. The O.P.A. refutes claims made by the Ben E. Keith Company's advertisement and stands by their decision.
