Concerns Regarding H.R. 2294 and Oklahoma Indians, 1946-07-23 - 1946-07-23

Mr. Hoffman wrote a letter to Congressman Schwabe expressing concerns about H.R. 2294, a bill that could negatively impact Oklahoma Indians, including the Quapaw tribe. Schwabe acknowledged Hoffman's concerns and informed him that he had communicated with Senators from Oklahoma to exclude Oklahoma Indians from the bill. Schwabe also mentioned that Senator Moore was opposed to the bill and had taken action to prevent it from being reported out by the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs. Hoffman requested Schwabe's help in preventing the passage of the bill in its current form and expressed a desire to meet with him in person.
