Concerns of Independent Refineries: A Call for Legislative Action, 1946-03-09 - 1946-03-09
The letter is from Dan Danciger, president of Danciger Oil & Refining Co., to Hon. George B. Schwabe expressing concerns about the power of labor unions and their impact on businesses. Danciger requests legislation to restrict political contributions from unions, make closed shop agreements illegal, subject unions to anti-trust laws, regulate picketing during labor disputes, and hold unions accountable for collective bargaining agreements. Danciger warns of the potential for inflation and the threat to the American way of life if these issues are not addressed. Schwabe responds, expressing agreement with Danciger's concerns and plans to share his arguments in the Congressional Record. Schwabe also acknowledges the need for change in Congress and the National Administration to address these issues.
