Inquiry Regarding Chickasaw Tribal Funds
The Carter County Chickasaw Tribal Council sent a letter to Governor Overton James requesting information about the financial status of the Chickasaw Tribal funds, specifically regarding the purchase of the Chickasaw Motor Inn. They expressed the importance of being informed about tribal affairs and invited Governor James to their quarterly meeting. The Speaker of Indian Affairs thanked them for the letter and expressed interest in matters... concerning the Indians of their district and the nation.
