Mrs. Thelma Hudson, president of the Wa-pe-he Home Demonstration Club in Red Rock, Oklahoma, wrote to Senator Harris requesting the restoration of the Home Demonstration Agent for the Pawnee, Otoe, and Ponca community. She received a positive response from Member of Congress Page Belcher, who informed her that the Agent had been restored. Belcher also provided information regarding the Indian Home Economics program and explained the reduction in the Extension program due to funding limitations. The letter from the Bureau of Indian Affairs highlighted the importance of housing programs but assured that the need for Extension services to Indian people had not been reduced. The Wa Pe' He Home Demonstration Club members expressed their appreciation for the Extension services and requested the support of Senator Harris and Senator Monroney in restoring the services.
