Addressing Language Deficiencies in American Indian Students: A Cooperative Effort Between the University of Tulsa and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, 1972-06-26
The University of Tulsa conducted a study on language deficiencies of American Indian children in Oklahoma in cooperation with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The study found that 86% of the children had language deficiencies and requested funding for a project at the Seneca Indian School to improve language capabilities. The final report includes procedures, findings, and recommendations for addressing communication problems among Indian children. Congressman Page Belcher was contacted for support in obtaining funding for the project.
