The Governors' Interstate Indian Council Executive Committee, led by Chairman Alva A. Simpson Jr., is concerned about the lack of educational facilities for Navajo children in New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. They have passed a resolution to improve educational facilities and are seeking support from Representative Carl Albert and Commissioner Dillon Myer of the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs. They are disappointed with the Bureau's lack of action and are urging for immediate measures to provide education for Navajo children.
