Resolution Against Choctaw Termination: Intertribal Council Urges Congress to Repeal Act of 1959, 1970-07-11
The Intertribal Council of the Eight Tribes of Northeastern Oklahoma expressed concern about the Choctaw Termination Act of 1959 and petitioned Congress to repeal it, as they believed the Choctaw tribe was not prepared for termination. They sent a resolution to various government officials urging them to pass legislation repealing the act.
