Protest Against Purported Election of Principal Chief of the Choctaw Nation, 1948-01-01 - 1948-12-31
A group of full-blood Choctaw Indians are protesting the recent election of Principal Chief of the Choctaw Nation, claiming that it was void due to disenfranchisement of voters and manipulation at the voting places. They also protest the appointment of the candidate who received the most votes, citing his behavior and holding of multiple offices. They request that his appointment be denied based on these grounds.
