The letter is from James R. Jones, a Member of Congress, thanking Mr. Hickory Starr for updating him on efforts to secure additional funds for PL 940437. Jones has co-signed a letter urging full funding for Title V of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act and expresses hope for success. Another letter from Hickory Starr to Dan Beard at the White House expresses concerns about lack of support for Indian health care funding and a perceived indifference towards American Indians by the Carter administration.
