Mrs. Susie B. Williams wrote to Congressman Carl Albert regarding payment to members of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes for the sale of their coal lands. Congressman Albert assured her that efforts were being made to secure the full amount of $8,500,000 for payment to all tribe members. Mrs. Williams expressed the importance of the payment for the tribes and requested information on when they would receive it.
