H.R. 7679 establishes a Navajo-Hopi Board of Arbitration to mediate conflicts over land ownership between the Navajo and Hopi Indian Tribes. The Board is responsible for overseeing negotiations, reaching agreements, and submitting them to Congress for approval. If no agreement is reached, the Board will select the most fair and equitable offer for submission. The Act also includes provisions for land allotment, resettlement, subsurface ownership, conservation practices, and legal actions between the tribes.
